Dubai is a city that fulfils its promises, says superstar Jackie Chan
DUBAI: International superstar Jackie Chan said he is happy to be back in Dubai for the filming of his latest film, Vanguard. The city's exceptional production infrastructure, support services and interesting funds make it an ideal place to film films, he said.
Speaking during a media interaction in Dubai Studio City, the action movie star said: "I am happy to be back in Dubai three years after the filming of Kung Fu Yoga, Dubai is a good place to shoot."
Chan said he is impressed with the high quality of the filming infrastructure in Dubai and the support he has received to film his new film. Compared to other countries, Dubai fulfills all the promises it makes, he added.
Jackie Chain-starrer Vanguard will close the section of its filming in Dubai on March 22, 2019. The film will be filmed in the emirate through a collaboration between Shanghai Lix Entertainment Co Ltd, Alkatraz Production and Line Producer, based in Dubai, Maxine de Vere
Directed by acclaimed action filmmaker Stanley Tong, the film was shot extensively in Dubai at several locations, including Dubai Studio City, Downtown Dubai and City Walk, as well as other prominent locations and residential areas, with the support of Film and Dubai Television (DFTC). The filming section in Dubai will be completed in a total of 30 days. Vanguard is expected to launch globally next year.
Chinese actors known as Yang Yang, Ai Lun, Zhu Zhengting, Jackson Lou and Mia are also playing key roles in the film. In addition, the film also features 20 local actors who have been chosen by a local talent agency, as well as 10 featured artists and more than 500 extras.

Dubai has been the scene of several big-budget international box office hits such as Syriana (2005), Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011) Fast and Furious (2009), Star Trek Beyond (2016) and a host of Bollywood films like Happy New Year 2014). The rapid increase in the number of international productions that choose Dubai as location for filming is a testament to its rise as a leading global destination for film and a regional center for the film production industry.
Filmmakers are attracted to Dubai for its robust infrastructure, its advanced filming facilities, which include highly-equipped sound rooms in Dubai Studio City, its large number of production talents, the availability of superior production services and the various venues of the emirate.
